07 Aug Charleston College Deals with Campus Rodent Infestation
Rodent infestations can be difficult to deal with as the College of Charleston recently learned first hand. Earlier in the year, a rodent infestation caused parts of the campus to be shut down for “maintenance.” However, the rodent issue was not disclosed to students right away.
As your local SC rodent exterminator, we feel it’s important for you to know about what’s happening in our area with these pests.
Reasons for Rat Infestations and Rodent Problems
The downtown Charleston area is known for having occasional rat problems. This is due to the moisture in the area, and because of the many old, historic buildings. Such places are breeding grounds for rats and other rodents.
Even so, no one believed it would be possible to have such a severe problem at the College of Charleston.
Many are speculating that the rodent problem increased there because of recent flooding, which causes rats to go to higher ground to seek shelter.
Students reported that rats were appearing in their dorm rooms. Also, the campus Chick-Fil-A closed down and a sign on the door read that it was due to maintenance. Many students expressed their concern because the dining hall next to the restaurant was not closed.
How a Local SC Rodent Exterminator Can Assist You
This rat infestation caused a lot of chaos on the college campus. The same would probably be said of you if you discovered a rat infestation in your home or business.
The right approach can eliminate rodent problems from your premises. There’s no need for you to have to deal with rats. Also, you shouldn’t try to get rid of them on your own.
Conventional rat traps are OK at best, but quite often they’re not good enough. You need a local SC rodent exterminator to come in, find the source, and eradicate the problem.
