So…how do you know if you have a bed bug infestation?

Things to look for:

• Live bed bugs, which are about the size of a match head or smaller, and reddish brown in color, hiding in the folds or underneath the seams of your mattress
• Bed Bug droppings, which appear as little dark specks on your mattress, pillow or sheets, especially around your neck and head area
• Drops of dried blood on the mattress, or even on your skin
• Red spots or welts on your skin, indicating a bed bug bite

Bed bugs feed on humans by sucking your blood while you sleep. The bites are usually not painful so you are not aware that you are being bitten at the time.

Bed bugs do NOT transmit diseases to humans as far as we know, but no one wants to be bitten and have your blood sucked by a nasty insect. Some people are highly allergic to bed bug bites and may have severe reactions. For these reasons, killing bed bugs is necessary for your safety and health.
